Payroll Administrator Apprentice
Southampton (SO19)
Monday to Friday 9am - 4.30pm (32.5 Hours per Week)
£3.90 per hour plus Pension and 28 days Holiday (Including 8 bank holidays)
 
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an individual who is looking to gain the first steps into Paryoll. Working for a boutique Financial and HR Consultancy based in Southampton you will have a main focus on delivery of Payroll solutions to a 60+ client base as well learning other aspects of accounts and business administration tasks.
 
Job Specifics
  • Processing Payroll for over 60+ clients (some weekly and some monthly) and issuing payslips/reports etc, updating and ensuring the client accounting system is correctly reflected by the wage journals system generated
  • Processing and updating Pensions monthly – including providing reports and reconciling the records
  • Reconciliation of PAYE HMRC systems with payroll systems and client payment allocations
  • CIS and application for CIS refunds
  • Administration side – issuing of letters of engagement, AML checks, updating client information on the systems at our offices, answering the phone, scanning and filing
  • The employer is also willing to offer additional training in AAT Level 2 Accounting – bookkeeping skills
The Person
  • Must be able to travel to the SO19 post code for work
  • Will need to have GCSE English & maths at C/4 or above / or have Functional Skills Level 2
  • A can do attitude, willing to go the extra mile and has the desire to learn new skills
  • Desirable skills in administration and customer service
The Apprenticeship
  • This is a 13 month Apprenticeship with college attendance or virtual learning 2 consecutive days every 2 months.
  • You will be visited by a college assessor in the workplace every 6-8 weeks as well. 
  • You will need to build an online portfolio of work evidence 
  • You will need to sit a multiple choice exam, carry out a scenario based exam as well has having a professional discussion with the awarding body.
