The Briny will be a new, innovative & dynamic addition to the South Coast food scene, located right on Southsea beach.

The newest venture of local restaurateurs responsible for Abarbistro, The Tenth Hole & The Canteen, we will be serving up fresh local produced with a focus on seafood. Customers will enjoy small & large plates, accompanied by excellent wines, beer & cocktails, whilst looking out on panoramic sea views.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Producing menu items in accordance with the Head Chef’s instructions.
  • Taking delivery of food from suppliers
  • Maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene at all times
  • Running sections across kitchens
  • Monitor work produced from junior chefs
  • Taking kitchen responsibilities from senior chefs

The successful candidate will have:

  • A flexible approach to working
  • Kitchen experience is desirable but not essential
 
The entry requirements are A-E/9-2 GCSE English and Maths or the Functional Skills Level 1 equivalent. 
 
The apprenticeship will last for 18 months and will consist of working 4 days a week with the employer and spending 1 day a week in college for theory and practical training. Once the apprenticeship has ended the candidate, with time and hard work, will have the potential to work through the kitchen ranks learning crucial skills along the way.
