Level 2/3 Accountant

£4.15 per hour (new minimum from 1st April 2020)

Monday-Friday 9am-5:30pm – 37.5 hours per week

Our services extend from a company’s inception and formation to its small-business phase, all the way to its needs as a national corporation working with investors, financiers and other professional services.

You will be working alongside experienced Accountants, thus giving you the best start possible in your Accountancy Career. You will be given the opportunity to attend client visits during your Apprenticeship. The successful applicant will be involved in a wide variety of accounting tasks as well as general administrative duties.

Duties:

  • Entering data on SAGE, IRIS, XERO and WorkFlow Max accounts/office systems
  • Undertaking bookkeeping and VAT services for clients 
  • Preparing spreadsheets and analysing client records 
  • Assisting with basic payroll preparation for clients
  • Supporting the marketing and accounts department with ad-hoc administrative duties
  • Answering phone calls from clients
  • Filling, photocopying and scanning and mailing documents
  • Calculating accounting adjustments such as depreciation, prepayments and accruals 
  • Booking in, filing and archiving of client books and records
  • As you progress within the role you will support Client’s at their offices with their accounting needs

Qualifications
  • A*-C/9-4/Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English.
  • If you hold a Level 2 AAT Certificate in Accounting, or who hold an A Level in Accounting Grade A*-C you can move straight onto the Level 3.
Course details
 
The apprenticeship will need you to attend our college in Birmingham on a Friday for a full college day which you need to commit to.
You will be assessed by the following:
  • Knowledge and skills test
  • A portfolio and discussion showing evidence of knowledge, skills and behaviours while within the workplace had met required standards.
  • Standard AAT exams
Future prospects
 
Upon successful completion of the Apprenticeship and subject to progress as an employee Trinity & Co would like to offer you a full time job. Apprentices who complete this programme can progress to a Level 4 qualification including a Level 4 apprenticeship, into employment or higher education.
