Level 3 Business Admin Apprenticeship – TaxAssist Accountants

Waterlooville

Salary up to £10,000. Regular reviews at training milestones, pension scheme, 28 days holiday (including bank holidays), cycle to work scheme available.

Mon – Fri, 9am – 5pm

 

Tax and accountancy practice, part of a national franchise in the top 25 UK accountancy practices.

 

Responsibilities

To provide reception and administrative support within the TaxAssist Accountants office. The post holder will be required to work flexibly, in a rapidly developing office environment. It will be necessary to assist other staff.

The key duties of the post are as follows:

  • Answer all telephone calls and reception enquiries in a timely, courteous and efficient manner and accurately log information on all calls received
  • Communicate and liaise verbally and in writing between clients/visitors/enquirers and staff and interpret and respond clearly and effectively to spoken requests over the phone or in person, and to verbal or written instructions
  • Typing – Word processing skills for general preparation of letters/forms that the manager will require
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public
  • Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance and adherence to relevant health and safety procedures
  • Arrange meetings, book and prepare meeting rooms and provide/arrange hospitality
  • Manage, organise and update relevant data using database applications
  • New client set ups using database applications, sending out relevant terms of engagement, requesting required set up information from clients and continuing to chase until this has been received
  • Sending out renewed terms of engagement to clients
  • Set up and maintain filing systems as and when required as works progress
  • Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials for which the role has responsibility
  • Other routine clerical tasks as assigned

Qualifications Required

  • Maths and English at grade 9-4/A-C or Functional Skills Level 2

     

    Apprenticeship/Next Steps

    This apprenticeship is work based only, you will be visited by an assessor every 6-8 weeks and be assessed by the following:

  • Online Knowledge Based 50 multiple choice questions - 60 minutes (20%)
  • Portfolio Based Interview – 30-45 minutes (40%)
  • Project Improvement Presentation 20-30 minutes (40%)

Further training and development will be available in payroll, accounting, L4 Administration or leadership depending on the aptitude of the candidate.  Potential roles in the practice include Accountant, Tax Advisor, Office Manager, Payroll Manager, Bookkeeper and Administrator.  Software training will be provided in practice management, Word, Excel and other software specific to the accountancy profession.
