It is important for the apprentice to take ownership of their own learning by seeking out opportunities to gain new skills on the job with the employer.

Apprentices and employers will be enrolled on our award-winning e-Portfolio system “OneFile” to enable both parties to upload evidence of learning and to track progression through the programme

Once the apprentices has completed their Level 2 National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) in Site Carpentry and any needed Maths and English, they will then be independently assessed on a knowledge assessment and practical skills assessment which will be graded at a Pass (50% - 65%), Merit (61% - 79%) or Distinction (80% - 100%) grade.

Knowledge Test – 35 Questions / 45 Minutes to complete. Questions will vary and cover H&S, Manual Handling, and Principles of Site Carpentry, team working, effective communications, logical thinking and team working

Practical Assessment – Minimum 6 hours to complete the assessment will require the apprentice to successfully complete a practical activity, and will include oral questioning where required to ensure the apprentice has the skills, supporting knowledge and behaviours required for the chosen job role

College NVQ Diploma – Question and answer pack around college learning and site specific work. Portfolio based evidence around work learning (pictures, examples & endorsements)

There is the opportunity of a full time position within the company if successful completion of apprenticeship.
