Electrical Installation Level 3 – Powerworks Maintenance Services Ltd

Gosport, PO13 0FJ

£4.15 an hour and pension scheme

The Company is engaged in the supply, installation and maintenance of Uninterruptible Power Supplies, Diesel Generators and other Datacentre equipment.  Working for both large private sector businesses, as well as public sector including NHS Hospitals, MOD RAF sites, Local Government Offices, Universities and Blue Light Services.

 

Responsibilities

The apprentice will have experience in electrical installation and will be supported to gain their I.E.E. Wiring Regulations 18th Edition, City and Guilds 2392-10 in electrical testing, NVQ L3 Electrical Installation & AM2 Practical Electrical skills.  They will be involved in assisting the company’s qualified engineers in industrial electrical installation of the company’s equipment.  Additionally, they will be trained in the service work on the company’s products at the customers’ sites and in due course will become a member of the on-call team once qualified.

The apprentice will complete their electrical apprenticeship while working alongside experienced and well qualified engineers who will assist them in gaining the experience and expertise required to become an industrial electrical engineer.  In addition, training will be provided to enable the apprentice to safely work on Uninterruptible Power Systems, including large battery banks, and learn how to carry out routine commissioning, maintenance as well as fault finding and repair.  The company has customers located throughout the UK, so it will be necessary to travel extensively meaning some long days will be necessary, and on occasion overnight stays near to the customer’s site where works will carry on over a number of days. Some overtime may be required.

 

The team at Powerworks Maintenance Services work closely together to achieve the aim which is to fully satisfy the customer’s requirements and expectations.  It is important that anyone joining the team is considerate of this aim at all times, and is presentable, displays good time-keeping and is approachable and friendly.

 

 

Skills, Experience and Personal Qualities

Some skills / previous knowledge would be advantageous, engineer to work well with others.

As we work on MOD / RAF Sites security clearance will be required which we will arrange. Some customers may require CRB checks, again if required we will arrange.

 

Qualifications Required

Maths and English GCSE’s 9-4/A-C or Functional Skills Level 1

Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installation desirable

 

Apprenticeship/Next Steps

The job-holder will join the engineering team on completion of their apprenticeship.  As such they will be carrying out installation of UPS systems and other electrical works, will be performing maintenance and emergency service visits at customer’s sites, will have a fully expensed company vehicle and will work alongside members of the engineering team.
