Puresun Beauty Salon & Laser Clinic
£4.15-6.72 - salary dependent on experience
30-38 hours a week - Monday-Friday 8am-7:30pm Saturday 8am-5pm with an hour lunch, AM and PM shifts available

We are a beauty salon and laser clinic based in Southsea and offer a range of treatments from eyelash extensions, waxing to aesthetic facials, laser treatments, hairdressing and massage.
We are looking to employ a Receptionist to work in our busy salon, you ideally have prior customer service experience from working on the phones, retail or face to face.
For this role you will be required to speak with clients electronically or on the phone so you must be comfortable in doing this.
You will start an hour before the business opens to prepare the salon, this can include disinfecting equipment and furniture, refilling stock and towels, being aware of the first treatments of the day and what the beauty technicians may need to hand, all the while ensuring the salon is presented in a clean and respectable manner. Weekdays you will finish 30 minutes after the salon closes to clean down from the day.

Your role will include:

  • Taking bookings in salon or over the phone and inputting into our bespoke database
  • Taking payment and correctly recording this.
  • Providing clients with a consultation form and ensuring this is correctly completed for legal reasons, providing help when needed.
  • Helping to promote the company through Marketing online using social media including our own app.
  • Adhering to GDPR at all times.
  • Assisting senior members and management.
  • Following health and safety
  • Keeping well-organised files and records of business activity.
  • General administrative tasks including scanning, filing, printing and sorting post.
Due to the current climate of Coronavirus you will need to ensure social distancing is respected by clients and that all who enter wear a mask and submit to their temperature being taken and recorded for their visit.

GCSE 9-2/A*-E in Maths and English or Functional Skills Level 1 in both, able to provide certificates.
Training to be provided
This apprenticeship is delivered entirely in the workplace and is supported by our Next Generation Learning Platform (OneFile) and supported by a qualified learning coach. Your assessor will liaise with you to set up mutually convenient times for consultation and assessment visits at your place of work. Attendance at College may be required to complete some parts of the knowledge units.
It is a Government requirement for you to spend 20% of your apprenticeship working towards yours “Off the Job Learning” – Off the job learning can consist of college attendance, homework/coursework, project related work, employer training, mentoring and coaching – plus a number of other tasks which are discussed upon starting the apprenticeship.
Future prospects
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship Puresun would like to take you on as an employee and progress your training via a Level 3 course or apprenticeship.
