Collison Motoring Services Ltd is owned by Rob and Becky Collison, but run by a whole team’s commitment to quality and customer service. Everyone at Collison’s wants to preserve, restore and refresh your car or van, so that you can love the vehicle you drive. Rob bought Collison’s in 1992, and was able to immediately set about raising the standard in independent garages, winning national awards for Customer Service and for Independent Garage of the Year within four years.

Responsibilities

This Apprenticeship vacancy is ideal for someone who is looking to begin their journey to becoming a qualified Service Technician and who wants to develop a long-term career.

We expect our Vehicle Service Technicians to maintain, service and repair vehicles to a consistently high standard. To achieve this we use some of the most advanced equipment and techniques in the industry, making this a great time to start your career with Collison’s.

Eventually and increasingly your role as a Light Vehicle Service Technician would include:

  • Servicing vehicles – carrying out checks and maintenance according to the manufacturers’ guidelines
  • Repairing and replacing faulty parts and components
  • Advising the Service Receptionists about required repairs
  • Producing time estimates
  • Maintaining repair and service records

You would begin with the basics and, combined with your ongoing training, we would assist you to be working and qualified as fully as you desire; even specialising in advanced areas of auto-technology as you prove able and willing.  This is an opportunity as limitless as your enthusiasm and desire to be the best.

Qualifications required

GCSE (or equivalent) grade A*-E or 9-3 in Maths and English.
