Residency


Please note: If you have not been a resident in the UK/EU for the full 3 years prior to you start date, you will need to provide documentary evidence to verify your status, e.g Passport/UK Boarder Agency (Home Office) letter dated within the last three months/ARC card.

*Relevant proceedings or criminal convictions are those of a violent or sexual nature, or offences involving unlawfully supplying controlled drugs or substances. Failure to declare information may result in disciplinary action being taken. If you have answered yes, you will be contacted shortly and asked to provide details. However if applying for a course in Support/Teaching, Childcare or Health and Social Care, you will need to declare ALL criminal convictions so please indicate Yes to this question as all are relevant at tis stage of the admission process.

How we use your personal information

As a public body, the personal information Highbury College (the data controller) collects, is of public interest and is required in order for us to process your registered interest in an apprenticeship where that information is special category personal information (e.g. medical information) we will process it because there is a substantial public interest for us to do so.

The purpose of collecting this personal information is for recruitment and selection, apprenticeship updates, auditing, equality and diversity monitoring and statistical analysis, and to provide you with college course information that could support you on obtaining an apprenticeship. This information may also be shared with employers for the purpose of recruitment and selection and with our database provider (Eploy)

If your application is successful, your personal information will be held securely on our recruitment database for the duration of your apprenticeship, and for an additional six years upon completion of your apprenticeship. It will then be disposed of securely. If your application is unsuccessful, your personal information will be held for 18 months at which point you will be asked if you would like to remain registered with us.

You retain the following rights:

  • The right to access your personal information, using the College’s Subject Access Request process
  • The right to have inaccurate personal information changed by e-mailing [email protected] or by contacting Reception
  • The right to restrict the processing of your personal information (in certain circumstances)
  • The right to object to the processing of your personal information
  • The right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office in relation to how Highbury College has processed your data
